Darren Meredith

Darren has over 25 years experience working in the Financial Services industry, covering retail banking, insurance and financial markets. He has worked at, or carried out many different assignments for companies including NatWest, Royal Sun Alliance, Merrill Lynch, and Aviva Investors. Darren joined Zymbian following a successful career as an independent consultant.

Darren’s experience covers a broad range of IT areas including development, operations, infrastructure, production support and project management. His particular experience is within the database services arena and one of his core strengths is the ability to build a motivated team.

 

 

 

We were facing daunting timescales and budgets and a groaning infrastructure and the need to upgrade a critical investment trading/fund management system (Latent Zero). Darren Meredith was drafted in to assist with the production planning and implementation.

His pragmatic approach, ‘can do’ attitude and unflappable outlook was exactly what we needed. He instantly took over the complex infrastructure control, planning and managing the releases in terms of software control, staffing across numerous IT support and development areas and implementing a test and release plan which practised the releases required in sufficient detail so as to ensure a problem free final deployment.

I can’t say the project went without a hitch, there were numerous issues but by the release date Darren had considered all the angles and the result was a smooth production release which was both within budget and on time. Pretty amazing really! I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Darren in the future, he not only went the extra mile, but was happy to assist with issues which were outside his remit, and was definitely an essential member of the team.
